Trophy Removal, New Attack Modes, and Additional Features

According to a recent post from the official Clash of Clans account on X, the upcoming September 2025 update is set to introduce significant changes aimed at enhancing the gameplay experience. These updates come in response to community feedback, focusing primarily on the matchmaking system and overall player engagement. Let’s dive into what players can expect from this much-anticipated update.

New Multiplayer Battles Modes: Battle and Ranked Battle

One of the most exciting features of the September update is the division of Multiplayer Battles into two distinct modes: Battle and Ranked Battle.

Battle Mode

The newly introduced Battle mode will cater to casual players who want to enjoy the game without the pressure of trophy drops. Here, players can engage in battles based on their Home Village levels, and matchmaking will be determined by Town Hall levels. A particularly appealing aspect is that players will enjoy unlimited attacks even within the Legends League, enabling them to practice and refine their strategies without the fear of losing trophies.

Ranked Battle Mode

On the other hand, Ranked Battles will be unlocked at Town Hall 7, targeting more competitive players who thrive on challenges. Here, participants will face opponents matched according to their leagues with a limit of six attacks per weekly tournament. This mode is designed to establish a clearer competitive hierarchy and introduce battle modifiers for increased difficulty.

Enhanced League System

Another noteworthy change is the introduction of a new league system, promising a more fluid progression for players. The Legend League remains the top-tier, but additional leagues will create a more structured climbing experience. League Bonuses will apply to both Battle and Ranked Battle modes, allowing players to mix and match these modes to complete their Star Bonus rewards.

As a welcomed trade-off, the developers are boosting the Star and League Bonuses, meaning all players can look forward to improved rewards—teasing the addition of Ores among other rewards.

Changes to the Shield System and Trophy Removal

In a bold move, the developers have redefined how Shields function in the game. Instead of a safety net that players rely on, Shields will operate more like Guards, meaning players won’t lose Shield Time while attacking in Multiplayer Battles.

Additionally, trophies will be removed from regular Battles, though a new trophy system will be implemented for Ranked Battles. This should incentivize competitive players to engage more actively, taking on the challenge of climbing the ranks with a measured approach.

Prolonged Season and Upcoming Changes

The September 2025 season has been extended until October 6, 2025, allowing players to accumulate trophies over a longer period and enhance their chances of scoring a higher league position. As the update rolls out, several achievements, such as the League All-Stars Achievement, will be phased out. Players are encouraged to grab the extra free Gems by completing these achievements before they disappear.

As players ascend through the ranks, they will encounter difficulty modifiers akin to Hard Mode in the higher leagues. This change aims to ensure only the best reach the top, keeping the competitive spirit alive within the game.

As community feedback is an essential part of Clash of Clans’ development, the team is expected to continue discussing more updates in the coming days. With exciting new modes and improved systems, the Clash of Clans September 2025 update promises to redefine the gaming experience for both casuals and competitors alike.
