#1 — Advance Quite A Bit
The tutorial is a bit long…
Duet Night Abyss features rich narratives and diverse characters, making the tutorial seem rather lengthy. Despite my lengthy review lost among various gameplay mechanics, there’s a vast array of creatures to collect, challenges to conquer, and worlds to explore. While you may feel daunted, it’s crucial to engage with the tutorial until you unlock the “Friends” mechanic. This milestone signifies that most features are at your disposal, even if not all.
#2 — Level Up and Ascend Your Characters
You might need it.
To make steady progress, ensure you level up your characters. If you hastily advance without proper leveling, brace yourself for potentially exhausting boss encounters. Post the Friends unlock, you’ll face begin a series of tougher battles, culminating in a challenging boss encounter rated Lv. 40.
While previous gameplay felt manageable, this boss will test your limits, as you might experience a remarkable disparity between your damage output and the boss’s health. Aim for at least Level 30 characters before advancing from this point.
#3 — Save Your Secret Letter Clue
Before you advance.
Once you’ve unlocked Friends, you will likely come across various characters available for recruitment. The Shop does not provide new characters; hence, it’s crucial to save your Secret Letter Clues until you find a character you genuinely want. Aim to secure at least 150 clues, especially before entering the Introns, to guarantee a character via Covert Commissions.
#4 — Tackle Every Challenge
It’ll teach you to play!
Atlasia is bursting with challenges, ranging from those linked to fast travel points to scattered quests. Completing these challenges not only rewards experience in both the rank and player skill areas but also enhances your familiarity with the game’s systems. These incorporate valuable loot and interesting locations that you might miss without thorough exploration, turning these challenges into essential gameplay experiences.
#5 — Explore EVERYWHERE
Don’t use fast travel, at least not at first.
The crafting system within Duet Night Abyss is expansive, emphasizing the importance of gathering various resources found across the landscape. Instead of relying on fast travel, take the time to explore every nook and cranny; gather resources before you actively require them. This method will allow you to stockpile important materials and craft essential items, enhancing your gameplay experience.
#6 — Engage with Everyone
Impressions and side quests aplenty.
One of the unique features of Duet Night Abyss is the dice-rolling mini-game influenced by your interactions with the game’s inhabitants. By engaging in conversations, you’re not only completing side quests, but you’re also raising “Impressions.” These impressions can unlock additional content including quests and purchasable items. Remember, while you can rely on luck, higher impressions result in more reliable access to desirable items.
#7 — Don’t Rush by Chests
You might miss out on some loot.
During your exploratory escapades in Atlasia, make sure you take the time to thoroughly investigate chests you encounter. Rushing through without engaging can lead to missed opportunities for unique items and rewards. Chests have a magnetic range that will pull items toward you, but take a moment before darting away to ensure you don’t forfeit any loot.
