What’s in the Hytale roadmap? After an incredibly rocky development period spanning over a decade, marked by a company buyout, subsequent cancellation, and now an early access release, Hytale’s launch signals the start of a brand-new era for Hypixel Studios.
With Hytale players already starting to ask for features like controller support and a working mana system, the community wants to see a Hytale roadmap to help make the wait for upgrades and improvements more bearable. The developers have stressed that the early access launch is a four-year-old build of the game and that there’s still plenty of work to do. Here’s when you can expect the latest Hytale features to drop.

Hytale Roadmap
Hypixel Studios currently doesn’t have a roadmap available and says it’s waiting for community feedback “within the next weeks and months from actual Hytale players” before providing one.
This information comes from a news post on the Hytale website, where the developers explained that they plan to release updates “quickly and frequently” over the first few months before advancing to launch larger bespoke updates and establishing a regular release cadence.
Here’s what is set to arrive in the Hytale early access build in the future:
- Adventure mode
- Minigames
- Social features
- World Gen V2
Adventure Mode
Unlike Hytale’s Exploration and Creative modes, which encourage players to find their own fun, the planned Adventure mode promises a “rich story and narrative elements, deeper progression systems, dungeons with boss fights, and more.” Players can glean hints about what to expect from this mode by looking at the Hytale console commands, which touch on aspects of the mana system that remain unrefined.
Minigames
You can already discover Hytale servers that host minigames, but the developers aim to integrate these experiences directly into the game. In a blog post from January 13, 2026, they mentioned that development on official minigames would commence shortly. A dedicated team is focused on this functionality, but the timeline for their addition remains nebulous, as the team hasn’t clarified what “stable” entails for the core game.
Social Features
At present, social features within Hytale are limited to basic text messaging. However, the developers have teased that prototypes for more interactive features, such as proximity voice chat and friends lists, are already in development. These enhancements could significantly elevate the multiplayer experience, fostering greater community engagement.

World Gen V2
Described as the “complete, restored world of Orbis,” World Gen V2 will revolutionize how the game’s procedurally generated worlds are crafted. This new version will allow anyone to create and modify world generation without needing programming knowledge, simplifying the process and broadening creative possibilities. A blog on January 5, 2026, titled ‘The Future of World Generation‘, elaborated on these advancements.
Simon Collins-Laflamme, founder of Hypixel Studios, has underscored the significance of this update, claiming that it will “redefine the block game genre.” To support this vision, the studio plans to hire 15 world designers, evidenced by concept art titled ‘Alterverses’ that showcases various planets like Orbis, Nexus, and Numdrassl. While not all concepts will make it into the game, they illustrate the expansive direction of Hytale.
Upcoming Hytale Updates
Since the initial release, Hytale has rolled out several updates, but the lack of a clear roadmap leaves players guessing about when new features will be implemented. Hytale Update 1, which launched on January 16 exclusively on the test servers, introduced various enhancements, including ease of crafting backpacks and adjustments to combat in the Devastated Lands biome. Complete patch notes can be found on the Hytale website.
Additionally, Collins-Laflamme has hinted at Hytale Update 2, showcasing new abilities like hiding armor for aesthetic customization. This feature will allow for server configuration, enhancing player expression with exclusive cosmetics. Other anticipated additions include avatar presets and weapon tooltips, along with a plethora of other improvements.
That’s everything you need to know about the Hytale roadmap. While there’s plenty on the horizon to look forward to over the coming years, there’s so much to explore right now. Give our Hytale mods guide a read to discover how creators are transforming the sandbox game with amazing innovations.
