This mountainous terrain presents a fresh set of challenges, including hot springs, lava, and even minecart rides. In this guide, we’ll navigate the colorful quests that Rocky Ridges has to offer, focusing on fixing the Pokémon Center PC, rescuing Chef Dente, and throwing an unforgettable party!
Rocky Ridges Walkthrough
To gain access to Rocky Ridges, head through the western gate in Withered Wasteland after completing the “Yawn up a Storm” quest. Should you happen to visit Bleak Beach first, consider checking out our guide on whether to go there or tackle Rocky Ridges first.
Fix the Pokémon Center PC
Upon entering the rocky realm, your first task is to follow Professor Tangrowth to the Pokémon Center, only to discover that the PC is disconnected. Begin your mission by creating habitats, starting with the Red Tall Grass habitat to befriend a sprightly Scorbunny. While they can’t directly help with the PC issues, they can lead you to those who can.
Learn Strength from Machoke
Your next step involves creating a Grassy Training Field habitat to befriend Machoke. To do this, gather Sandbags nearby and create the habitat. Once Machoke appears, follow him to an area strewn with ash, where he’ll ask you for five stones. After handing them over, he will teach you the Strength skill—this will allow you to push heavy boulders around.
Next, head back to the Pokémon Center and use your newfound strength to shift the PC onto the nearby power supply. This will initiate an Important Request to rebuild the Pokémon Center, setting the stage for further adventures.
Rescue Chef Dente
After fixing the PC, chat with Professor Tangrowth and follow him to a barrel hanging from the ceiling. The barrel, which turns out to be none other than Chef Dente (a Greedent), needs rescuing. To free him, you’ll need to make a Pointy Tree-shaded Rocky Tall Grass habitat.
Travel along the minecart tracks until you reach the water and vegetable area. Push a boulder with your Strength skill towards a nearby tree, and pull up some Tall Grass. Once you’ve done this, Dartrix will appear at your new habitat.
Learn to Cook Salad
Ask Dartrix about a Cutting Board, leading to a fun little side quest. This requires you to craft a Perch using 2 Small Logs and 1 Leaf, which once placed next to Dartrix, will enable you to build the necessary Cutting Board. Use it to prepare a Simple Salad that powers up your Leafage Transformation.
Learn to Cook Bread
After placing the salad, check back with Chef Dente for another recipe. To cook Bread, use your newly powered-up Leafage to pull moss from the cave floors and navigate through a new hot spring area. Collect four patches of moss to create a Mossy Hot Spring habitat.
You’ll find Torkoal here, who will guide you in building a Bread Oven. Collect the required materials—Volcanic Ash, Stones, and Small Logs—and then grab wheat from Dartrix’s area to make the venerated bread. Eating this will power up your Cut transformation.
Learn to Cook Hamburger Steak
Now that your culinary skills are improving, it’s time to tackle the next challenge. Break the chains holding Chef Dente captive with your Cut skill, and he’ll inform you that he wants to teach you about cooking. After receiving the Frying Pan recipe from Tangrowth, head to a cave interior guided by Machoke.
Create a Digging and Burning habitat to befriend Magmar, who will help you make copper ingots using a furnace. With your newly acquired resources, craft the Frying Pan and use beans to prepare a Hamburger Steak, which significantly boosts your Rock Smash skills.
Time to Party Quest: How to Increase the Mood
Now on to the main event—the Time to Party quest! To host a successful gathering, your Mood needs to be raised up to 100. Begin by making sure your Environment Level is at least 3. A persistent Scorbunny will give you further requests leading to the party.
Meet DJ Rotom
Go through blocked caves using your Rollout transformation to unveil DJ Rotom! After a quick chat, report back to Scorbunny, then head to DJ Rotom for the main mission.
Raise the Mood
To host a successful party, you must complete several tasks.
- CD for DJ Rotom: Find a CD in glowing blocks and give it to Rotom for musical entertainment.
- Acquire a Large Relic: Gather this lost relic from glowing blocks and have Tangrowth appraise it.
- Invite Ludicolo: Pull out Duckweed from water bodies to summon Ludicolo to your party.
- Decorate the Area: Place decorations such as balloons and speakers throughout the party zone.
- Cook Party Platters: With Chef Dente’s help, create five Party Platters by acquiring Iron Ingots and placing them around the party.
Make Party Curry
As the grand finale, prepare the Party Curry! You will need:
- 15 Leppa Berries
- 15 Wheat
- 15 Beans
- 5 Honey
Once you gather these ingredients, head over to the cooking pot. The dish will require about five minutes to prepare, so take this time to explore and finalize any details for the festivities.
