Quality of Life Updates
In the latest patch, we’ve made several significant quality of life updates designed to enhance your gaming experience. Let’s dive into what these changes entail, from audio improvements to updates in player behavior and settings.
Device Notifications
One of the most noteworthy changes is the introduction of notifications for players using unsupported devices. The game will now alert you when it detects a device that may cause input issues, helping you identify potential problems before they affect your gameplay.
Audio Enhancements
Aural experiences are crucial in gaming, and we’ve made several adjustments to amplify your auditory journey:
- Super Meter Sounds: These sounds now play less frequently, reducing distractions during gameplay.
- Teemo’s Bugle Taunt: The iconic Teemo has received an upgrade, and his bugle taunt sounds even more glorious now.
- Updated Music Themes: Some of the game’s in-game music themes have received their final versions. Champions like Warwick and Darius, as well as stages such as Annihilator’s Reach and The Brazen Hydra, are now accompanied by refined soundtracks in both the main menu and post-match screens.
Lobby Improvements
The lobby experience has also seen improvements, making it more engaging for players:
- Avatar Sound Effects: Sounds associated with running, dashing, and jumping have been freshened up, providing a more immersive feel.
- Winstreak Mechanics: Winstreaks now persist across lobbies, though it’s important to note that casual lobby winstreaks do not carry over to ranked lobbies. Additionally, winstreaks reset daily and end when joining or leaving a duo.
- Performance Optimizations: Various optimizations have been made to enhance lobby and spectator performance, ensuring smoother gameplay.
Enhancements in Player Behavior
We’ve taken steps to ensure a fairer gaming environment:
- Account Management: Accounts banned for inappropriate Riot IDs cannot change their IDs until the ban is lifted, encouraging responsible naming.
- Disconnection Penalties: Penalties for disconnections are now more consistently applied, improving overall game integrity.
Player Profile Updates
Your player profile has also received a makeover:
- Ranked Points Display: Player profiles now show current Ranked Points alongside other ranked information, provided placement matches are completed.
- Unranked Status: Unranked players are now labeled as “Unranked” instead of “Aspirant,” providing clarity regarding their status.
Accessibility Settings
Accessibility features have been improved to cater to a wider audience:
- Volume Slider: A volume slider has been added for the text-to-speech narrator under Settings > Accessibility.
- Expanded Text-to-Speech Coverage: The narrator now covers lobby chat, social panels, and the store, ensuring a more inclusive experience.
- Input Icons Options: You can now select between platform-specific controller inputs or 2XKO buttons for First Fight, Tutorials, and Combo Trials.
Social Features
The social aspect of gaming has been refined:
- Friend Removal Confirmation: A confirmation prompt has been added before a friend is removed, helping prevent accidental deletions.
- Invitation Notification Changes: The countdown timer for invitation notifications has been removed, replaced by a progress bar animation in the social panel for expiring invites.
- Social Panel Improvements: Various enhancements have been made to streamline interactions in the social panel.
Store Adjustments
Shopping in the game has become a bit more user-friendly:
- Chroma Pack Confirmation: Players are now prompted to confirm their intention before unlocking a Chroma Pack.
- Starter Edition Clarity: All Starter Edition offers are clearly displayed on the purchase confirmation screen for easier decision-making.
Bug Fixes
A number of bugs have been ironed out, enhancing overall gameplay quality:
- Voice Lines and Sound Issues: Fixed problems related to missing voice lines or sounds during champion intros.
- Champion Select Visibility: Resolved issues where player names were missing during champion selections while spectating.
- Stage Lighting Concerns: Addressed lighting discrepancies that sometimes appeared in matches or during spectating.
- HUD Glitches: Fixed bugs affecting the HUD during full-screen spectating.
- Lobby Navigation Issues: Corrected a recurring message bug prompting players to switch lobbies in Ranked play.
Additionally, various bugs affecting movement after matches and discrepancies related to the display of player names, sound settings, and narrator pronouncements have been resolved.
Known Issues
Players should ensure their Riot Account’s region matches their intended play region to avoid connection problems. Transferring VALORANT or Legends of Runeterra accounts may impact 2XKO progression—if you encounter issues, reach out to Player Support for assistance.
